(LGV Driver - Night Shift) - Position Overview

Our client is an All-round logistics provider specializing in next day/ same day delivery of air and sea freight and the distribution of heavy, awkward and dangers consignments within the UK.
Role Sumamry:
Drive Company vehicles in a safe manner and adhere to all relevant legislation/ rules in relation to the loads being transported.
You will also provide cover in the warehouse as and when required, by undertaking the safe movement of cargo in and out of the company’s buildings and vehicles whilst following the loading and warehouse processes to ensure effective operation across the warehouse.

(LGV Driver - Night Shift) - Position Requirements

Class 1 Driver:

Completing deliveries/ collections throughout the UK.

* Load and unload in line with the company’s code of practice and use of appropriate equipment as and when needed.
* Maintain the security of the load whilst loading, transporting and delivering.
* Comply with various legislation’s regarding vehicle safety, tachographs operation and Working Time Directive.
* Updating your daily C&D consignments on the PDA and contact the transport office in a timely manner regarding any issues within 15 minutes of arrival at customer site.
Warehouse Operative:

* Locate cargo safely and accurately in warehouse racking and bay system.
* Load and unload vehicles arriving at the warehouse ensuring loads are evenly distributed and safely secured and labelled correctly.
* Ensure all cargo issues are correctly identified, recorded and notified to the Depot Supervisor or Operations Manager.
* Completion of records for goods received and dispatched through the warehouse.
* Ensure Company plant and equipment are used correctly and safely.
* Check tyres, brakes, lights, oil, water and fuel levels and general condition of any forklifts driven during the shift.
* Reporting to the Operational Manager without delay, all issues affecting safety and the security of the warehouse, colleagues and visitors.
* Ensuring that the warehouse area is kept clean and tidy.


Experience & Qualifications


* C+E Licence requirement.
* Class 1 driving experience is essential
* Forklift Counterbalance requirement.
* Digital tachograph card is essential.
* Minimum 2 years of LGV vehicle driving experience and must be over 25 years old due to underwritten insurance.
* Good knowledge of EU Regulations and Working Time Directive.
* Geographical knowledge of major UK roads.
* Sound knowledge of Highway Code and speed limits for size of vehicle / type of road.

* £35,000
* Night Shifts - Need to be flexible with days/ hours
* 25 days holiday + bank holidays
* Auto Enrolment Pension
