Work from home and in the community
Location: Suffolk
Salary: £44,342 - £57,383 depending on experience
Hours: Full Time 37.5 hours a week although part time / flexible working considered

The National Probation Service (NPS), have partnered with St Andrew’s Healthcare to deliver Community Sentence treatment Requirements as part of a Mental Health Treatment Requirement initiative. This is a unique opportunity to work as a Qualified Psychologist embedded in probation offices in the Suffolk region.
Within this role you will support and enhance the professional psychological care of clients within the Criminal Justice System (CJS); providing psychological assessment and psychological interventions, working independently according to a plan agreed and within the overall framework MHTRs, and St Andrew’s policies and procedures.

Community Partnerships
Our service specialises in developing and delivering community based services for St Andrew’s. We offer a range of services including, a busy private therapy clinic, a Medico-Legal Service, Diagnostic Assessment Clinics (ADHD and ASD), a Complex Trauma Service for Military Veterans, a community transition service and a range of MHTR services across the midlands and east of England. We support LightBulb a schools based mental wellness programme and are able to offer a comprehensive development plan for those wishing to gain a range of experience.
The Role and Person
You will be responsible for delivering outcome based psychological therapy that is uniquely tailored to meet the needs of service users living in the region. You will supervise a number of assistant psychologist supporting them in a manualised treatment approach, whilst working with the wider team on more complex cases. You will be offered supervision from a consultant Psychologist working within our service, they will encourage you to develop your strengths and skills with opportunities for professional development.
The service is community based and appointments are offered where possible in the service user’s locality as well as remotely via telephone and video. As some travel will be required, a full driver’s licence is essential or access to good public transport links. However, in return, you will also benefit from having the flexibility to work from home when appropriate to do so.
The successful applicant will join a highly motivated, supportive and friendly multi-disciplinary team, and will report directly to the Clinical Lead. The service is psychology-led and holds psychological assessment and formulation, as well as the service users we work with, at the core of everything it offers.
Experience of using a range of therapeutic modalities including CBT, EMDR and Compassion Focused Therapy would also be an advantage although support and development to gain these skills will be provided.
St Andrews has an excellent record of providing opportunities for research, training and continuing professional development so you will also have access to peer support from the wider Charity, as well as regular CPD events. Due to the pioneering nature of this service, there will be opportunities for service development including co-production with service users and an interest and enthusiasm in these areas is desired.
In order to be eligible for the role, the successful applicant will be registered with the HCPC or be able to register in the near future.
