About the Role:
As the Head of First Line Risk and Controls, you’ll be at the forefront of our client’s mission to embed a culture of rigorous risk management across their organisation. You will lead the Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) efforts within your business area, ensuring that operations are safe, compliant, and aligned with regulatory requirements. A key focus of this role will be overseeing risk and controls within motor insurance products.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead the GRC management within your business area, developing and embedding processes that enhance capabilities.
* Collaborate closely as part of a wider ’3 lines of defence model to ensure effective risk and compliance management.
* Ensure operational control effectiveness and compliance with regulatory requirements across the organisation and third-party partners.
* Act as a subject matter expert on emerging risks and regulatory compliance requirements.
* Drive the delivery of the Risk Transformation Programme on behalf of the Executive Committee member.
* Champion a cultural shift towards proactive risk management during a period of significant business transformation.
What We’re Looking For:
* Proven experience in a senior risk management role, preferably within the insurance industry, ideally with a strong background in the Motor sector.
* Strong understanding of Governance, Risk, and Compliance frameworks and processes.
* Extensive experience with motor insurance products is essential.
* Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence and inspire change.
* A proactive approach to identifying and managing emerging risks.
* Experience in managing relationships with regulators is a plus.
