A leading firm is seeking an experienced senior solicitor/associate with a focus on litigation and real estate litigation to join a distinguished team based in Edinburgh.
This role offers the opportunity to work on complex litigation cases, including those in the Supreme Court and the Court of Session, and to engage with a diverse client base, including institutional investors, estate owners, retailers, housebuilders, and commercial landlords and tenants.
Responsibilities:
* Client Advisory: Provide strategic advice on real estate dispute resolution with a commercial perspective
* Litigation Management: Handle cases in the Court of Session, Sheriff Court and Lands Tribunal
* Dispute Resolution: Employ ADR methods, including arbitration, negotiation and mediation, to settle disputes
* Team Leadership: Collaborate with team members and supervise junior staff
* Legal Expertise: Stay current with legal developments and procedural changes
* Client Engagement: Build and maintain strong client relationships, understanding their industries and challenges
* Business Development: Contribute to the growth of the business through proactive client development and networking
Qualifications:
* Experience: 2-6 years PQE in litigation and real estate litigation
* Skills: Excellent communication, research and analytical skills
* Knowledge: In-depth understanding of court and tribunal procedures, including jurisdiction, interim orders, judicial expenses and diligence
* Client Focus: Ability to tailor advice to meet client needs and priorities
* Professionalism: High standards of professional conduct and effective time management
