RM Recruit are excited to be working in partnership with a dynamic organisation in the third sector with offices in Sutton Coldfield and Tamworth who are seeking a resourceful, well-articulated Finance Assistant to join their team on a permanent, term time basis working 37 hours week. Our client is able to offer a hybrid working arrangement with scope for 2-3 days remote working.
Reporting directly to the Finance Manager, you will carry out the effective and efficient delivery of financial support to the school.
Duties include:
* Process purchase orders, invoices, and BACS payments using the Trust’s finance system.
* Reconcile bank and purchase card accounts.
* Process and reconcile journals, including payroll journals, to control accounts.
* Conduct monthly reviews of creditors and debtors.
* Assist with audit procedures and month/year-end processes.
* Record and reconcile all received income with the cashless payment system.
* Update and maintain the fixed asset register and inventory.
* Build strong and effective working relationships with all staff and finance team members.
* Provide quality service to all customers, including students, staff, parents, and other users.
The ideal candidate will be part AAT qualified with prior exposure in a similar role. Candidates with prior experience in the education sector are of high interest to our client, although candidates outside the sector will also be considered. A strong attention to detail and accuracy is essential for this role. You will possess good communication skills with the ability to problem solve. The successful candidate will be subject to an enhanced DBS.
