Job Description:
Summary The Fix the Fells Ranger teams repair fell paths in the uplands for approximately seven months of the year (April to October).The other five months are spent at lower altitudes working as part of the National Trust North Lakes Property.

What you’ll be doing The responsibilities of an Fix the Fells Assistant Supervisor (Grade 9) are shown in the Role Profile. In addition, this role includes:
·      Working closely with Fix the Fells volunteers, organising and managing monthly work parties, being the port of contact for the volunteers.
·      Assisting the supervisor with the day to day running of the team, including work planning and compliance tasks.
·      Leading when required upland path repair projects such as stone pitching, drainage and maintenance.
·      Assisting in a variety of other practical tasks such as fencing, hedging and walling.
·      Undertaking physical work in varying weather conditions in often high and remote locations.
Who we’re looking for We’d love to hear from you if you’re:
* practically experienced in conservation work, to protect and improve habitats and landscapes
* happy to talk to all kinds of people about the work you’re doing, and why it matters
* hard-working and willing to learn
* able to work safely, using risk assessments and following guidelines
* experienced in managing land, access and conservation, and working outdoors
* able to use machinery and equipment, with relevant certificates
* a driver with a full UK driving licence
