Job Description:
They are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their dynamic team in Dartford. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all costs relating to glazing facade projects, from initial calculations to final figures. Your primary goal will be to minimize costs, enhance value for money, and achieve the required standards and quality.
Key Responsibilities:
* Cost Management: Prepare, analyse, and manage project budgets and costs. Provide detailed cost reports and forecasts.
* Tendering: Manage the tender process, including preparing tender documents, evaluating submissions, and making recommendations for contract awards.
* Contract Administration: Draft, review, and manage contracts, ensuring compliance with all legal and company requirements.
* Valuation: Conduct valuations and prepare progress reports. Ensure timely and accurate invoicing.
* Risk Management: Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with cost and time overruns. Implement risk management strategies.
* Client Liaison: Maintain effective communication with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors. Address any issues or concerns promptly.
* Project Coordination: Work closely with project managers, architects, and engineers to ensure seamless project execution.
* Compliance: Ensure all work complies with relevant legal, safety, and environmental standards.
* Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of all project documentation, including contracts, correspondence, and financial data.
Qualifications and Experience:
* Education: A degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field would be desirable but not essential.
* Experience: Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Quantity Surveyor, preferably within the glazing facades industry.
* Skills: Strong analytical and numerical skills, excellent attention to detail, and proficiency in cost management software.
* Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of construction methods and materials, particularly in glazing facades.
* Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to negotiate and build relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
* Certifications: Membership in a professional body such as RICS (Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors) is preferred but not essential.
