Day-to-day of the role:
* Arrive at schools ready to take on the day with enthusiasm, often with short notice, to cover absences or short-term needs.
* Quickly adapt to new classroom environments, establishing rapport and effective classroom management strategies.
* Deliver pre-planned lessons and ensure continuity of education for all pupils in the absence of their regular teacher.
* Utilise strong interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with staff and students.
* Provide feedback on the day’s activities for the returning teacher or school management.
* Be prepared to follow the school’s policies and procedures to ensure a safe and structured learning environment.
* Demonstrate flexibility and resourcefulness, often improvising to engage students with the available resources.
* Maintain professional standards and a positive attitude, serving as a role model for students.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
* UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.
* Experience teaching in KS1, KS2, or EYFS.
* In-depth knowledge of the National Curriculum.
* Strong classroom management abilities.
* Flexibility to adapt to varying schedules and school environments.
