**Pipework Surveyor - Southampton**

**Salary:** £40,000 - £60,000 per annum
**Hours:**
- Monday to Thursday: 07:30 - 17:30
- Friday: 07:30 - 13:30

**Location:** Southampton

**About the Role:**

A distinguished mechanical engineering organisation, renowned for delivering complete project services across various industries such as Petro-Chemical, Oil & Gas, Power, Water, and Pharmaceutical, is seeking a Pipework Surveyor. With over 20 years of experience and a solid reputation among well-known clients, this role offers long-term job security and avenues for career advancement.

The primary focus of the role is to conduct site visits and create detailed manufacturing drawings for purchasing and fabrication purposes. Responsibilities include producing like-for-like equipment drawings, detailed piping, and steelwork designs, and developing new concepts. Collaboration with the CAD department, site installation team, and workshop engineering department is essential.

**Roles and Responsibilities:**
- Create detailed manufacturing drawings, including general arrangements, part drawings, developments, and templates.
- Produce piping and steelwork fabrication drawings in the form of isometrics, general arrangements, and orthographics.
- Adhere to P&IDs when designing pipework drawings.
- Review and check detailed design drawings of piping systems, supports, and steelwork in accordance with industry standards, codes, and client specifications.
- Survey and produce design drawings for equipment replacements and modifications.
- Prepare and check bills of materials.
- Provide technical input during detailed engineering of projects.
- Support the preparation of manufacturing work packs.

**Skills and Experience:**
- Extensive knowledge of piping design and calculations.
- Time-served Pipefitter or equivalent experience.
- Familiarity with ASME & BS EN standards.
- Proficient in understanding petrochemical piping specifications with a strong emphasis on site surveys.
- Competence in using AutoCAD drawing software is advantageous but not essential.
- Solid experience in piping and steelwork within highly regulated industries such as Oil, Gas, Petrochemical, and cryogenics.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Computer literate.
- Strong understanding and experience of safe working practices.
