Network Transmission Engineer

Our mission relies on a team full of inspiring people, and we’re looking for a Network Transmission Engineer with industry experience and the knowledge to build equipment and systems ahead of site visits. Strong skills in optical fibre platforms (including ON and DWDM) are a key requirement plus past experience supporting managed solutions would be of benefit.

This role is 24 x 7 x 365 support of the above services and platforms via an on-call rota.
Here’s why you’ll love this role…
-Provide direct support to Quickline’s Growing Hybrid NGA network.
-Carry out I+C of Core and Distribution Layer Ethernet circuit installation.
-Testing and fault remedy of Ethernet services to the current relevant standards
-Installation and commission of Active cabinets
-I+C of access layer and DCN hardware across the Quickline estate, Supporting these in life.
- Engage in survey work to capture specific site needs and minimize delays in delivery process
Here’s why you’ll be great in this role…
- Must have prior transmission networking experience covering WAN and LAN deployments.
- Basic DC electrical knowledge for SP based systems. -48vDC, Certification would be of an advantage.
- DWDM knowledge is a mandatory requirement, with working experience on delivering services across these platforms.
- CCNA or equivalent certification / understanding of Layer 2 technologies.
- Understanding and experience of RFC 2544 + Y.1564 testing parameters.
- MSAN/DSLAM experience is of an advantage.
- Hold a Full Clean UK Driving Licence
