Job Description:
The Fire and Rescue Service in Nottinghamshire is looking for an enthusiastic and innovative Communications Officer to join their team. Want a job where no two days are the same? Then this role is for you!

Communications Officer
Arnold, Nottingham, NG5 8PP
* Full time, 37 hours per week (Monday – Friday)
* Permanent position
* Grade 4: £29,269 - £31,364

As a Communications Officer, you will help keep staff engaged, motivated and well informed. You will help deliver internal and external behaviour change campaigns that pack a punch and genuinely save lives. You will support the frontline firefighters during major incidents, keeping local communities safe and up to date. And that’s just the start!

Key Responsibilities
* Play a leading role in the delivery of a first-class internal communications service that keeps staff up-to-date and well-informed
* Deliver a proactive and reactive media relations service, including dealing with communications relating to incidents.
* Help to manage the development of the service’s social media channels, using these platforms to engage with people across the county
* Take part in the service’s out-of-hours press office rota – allowing them to fulfil their statutory duty to warn and inform the public during large-scale incidents
* Represent the service at internal and external events, help with communications projects and design and deliver behaviour change campaigns that pack a punch

Experience/Qualification
* NCTJ, CIPR, CIM or equivalent qualification in a communications or marketing discipline.
* Experience working in public relations and experience using social media as part of communications.
* Ability to use a wide range of IT applications and possess good keyboard skills.
* Good organisational, communication and interpersonal skills.
* An understanding of how traditional and social media works.
