Seamstress / Sewing Machinist
8am - 4pm
Monday - Friday
£12 per hour
Our client based in Swindon are looking for a Seamstress/Sewing Mechanist to join their team. They are looking for a hard-working individual who can offer flexibility and commitment. This highly motivated individual will need to display a professional approach to their work and have a genuine ’can do’ attitude towards their responsibilities. 
Responsibilities
* Ensuring that sewing machines and other equipment are in good working order. 
* Altering or repairing customers garments and other articles, which includes hemming, mending, lengthening, as well as taking in and letting out seams.
* Constructing garments and other articles and recording the alternations required.
* Using irons and pressing machines to erase the crease on the garments and other articles. 
* To report any complaints, accidents, equipment malfunction, maintenance faults, suspicious persons, safety hazards or other incidents immediately to the supervisor or the duty Manager. 
* To understand and follow all the objectives, standards, policies and procedures outlined by your Manager.
Requirements
* Previous experience as a seamstress or tailoring
* Ability to thrive in a fast-paced atelier, working with a calm, positive and problem-solving attitude.  
* Comprehensive knowledge of health and safety standards.
* Ability to work with a variety of fabrics and materials, including delicate and high-end textiles.
* Excellent attention to detail and precision in craftsmanship.
* Safety and legal compliance are a must. We welcome applications from people with a good safety record.
