Job Description:
Engineering Projects Manager (known internally as Central Engineering Projects Manager)
Home based - Time will be split between our Ashby de la Zouch and Teesside sites.

Permanent Role



The Role

* To contribute to the achievement of overall company objectives by ensuring the plant, equipment, site services, land and buildings are maintained to standards acceptable for a factory producing food for our brands and the major multiples.
* Fully participating as a member of the Central Engineering Team in achievement of internal customer satisfaction, Health and Safety, compliance, technical standards, capital budgets, performance targets and manufacturing excellence.
* Can deliver the full range of capital projects within a food manufacturing environment from concept to full handover. Can do this utilising the principles of Intersnack Work Systems and the Initiative Management Pillar.
* Manage CAPEX expenditure.
* Manage, supervise and monitor the implementation of capital projects, liaising where appropriate with site teams, manufacturers, suppliers and contractors to ensure their timely completion within budget. Operate a project framework that covers from inception, planning, briefings, implementation, post implementation reviews and audit success against expected delivery.
* Focusing on Building and Civil works this role will manage a number of new builds and extensions across our UK sites – managing budgets from £100k - £30,000,000.
* Manage all internal fit out and facilities required for all the UK sites
* Work with the KP Legal team to ensure contracts and warrantees are in place and suitable for purpose.
* Ensure the company Health and Safety, Environment, Hygiene and Communication policies are applied by all engineering staff in their work throughout the business, with particular emphasis being placed upon safe working practices.
* Ensure that all necessary testing of plant, equipment and machinery is completed in accordance with the appropriate statutory regulations on all new equipment relating to CAPEX.
* Ensure contractors, as well as direct labour, are following safe systems of work, risk assessments and method statements / SOPs.
* Ensure that company rules, grievance and disciplinary procedures are correctly and consistently applied, and where appropriate liaising with HR regarding necessary actions.
* Develop effective teamwork with particular reference to integration within other functions and with a one team, one goal approach.
* Liaise with the factory management teams to ensure that the activities of contractors are understood briefed to the teams via project managers and help with transparent communications.
Health & Safety
* Ensure company standards and statutory regulations are complied with, within own area of control.
* Ensure those working practices in relation to Health, Safety, Environment and Housekeeping are maintained, identifying and immediately action all hazards and unsafe working practices.
* Ability to conduct critical safety management processes, including.
* Accident, incident and near miss investigations and actions
* Risk Assessment processes
* Safe Systems of Work and Standard Operating Procedures
* Provide advice and support to Manufacturing, Technical and other areas.
* Lead by example as to ensure a behavioural safety culture is developed and maintained
