Hays Education are exclusively recruiting for Wakefield Independent School, a small, non-selective independent day school, part of the historic and picturesque Nostell Priory Estate, situated in Wakefield, in the heart of West Yorkshire.

This co-educational day school caters for children from 3 to 16 years within their three-school structure. The Rectory houses the foundation, infant and junior years. Wragby is the base for their Key Stage 3 students and Nostell is home to their seniors in Key Stage 4. Wakefield Independent School is renowned for its small class sizes, outstanding student behaviour, and excellent work-life balance for staff.

The school is seeking a passionate and dedicated Secondary Science Teacher to join their dynamic and inclusive team on a permanent basis. The successful candidate for this Secondary Science Teacher job will be responsible for delivering high-quality science education to students aged 11-16, fostering a love for learning and scientific enquiry.

Key Responsibilities:
* Plan and deliver engaging and effective science lessons in line with the national curriculum up to GCSE level.
* Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback and support.
* Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and enthusiasm.
* Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement innovative teaching strategies.
* Participate in school events, parent meetings, and professional development opportunities.
Qualifications and Experience:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
* A degree in a relevant science subject.
* Experience teaching science at the secondary level is essential.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
