Job Description:
Interim Management Accountant - 6 months initially
London based - near Waterloo and Southwark Tube Stations
£22 - £27ph + holiday pay (depending on experience)
3 days in the office, 2 days home based
Our client is a leader in its field, and they are a private equity backed, SaaS business that operate within the media and events industry and they seek an interim Management Accountant initially for a 6-month contract. This role is pivotal for their finance time, in ensuring accurate profitability reporting on new and existing deals and providing critical financial insights on margin. The successful candidate will be a fully qualified ACCA or CIMA accountant with a strong background in management/revenue accounting and exceptional analytical skills.
Key Responsibilities:
* Taking ownership in the month-end global close of subsidiaries (for both US and UK)
* Taking ownership in resolving all open accounting issues
* Preparation of month-end balance sheet reconciliation for some of the subsidiaries within the group
* Assisting with the preparation of Monthly Management Accounts
* Assisting the Financial Controller and Group FC with variance analysis
* Provide guidance on any accounting support needed for the junior members of staff
* Lead the monthly meetings with senior finance staff to review reconciliation and highlight any errors, issues or any incorrect entries
* Reviewing and identifying both control and process improvements
* Overseeing the application of travel and expense claim policies
* Assist the FC with preparation for year-end statutory group audit
* Updating process and accounting policy documents
* Supporting the Finance Manager and FP&A Manager with ad-hoc tasks as required
Requirements
* Part or newly qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA Accountant with a proven track record in management accounting (r qualified by experience)
* Knowledge of VAT and tax from a UK perspective
* Experience of consolidation of multi-national, multi-currency group
* Strong analytical skills, with the ability to investigate and understand variances and underlying reasons
* Meticulous attention to detail and an inquiring mind for accurate financial reporting.
* Excellent interpersonal skills to confidently liaise with various departments and stakeholders.
* Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to provide industry-leading customer service to internal and external customers
* Intermediate Excel - Pivot Tables, V Look ups, and potentially previous experience of working on Netsuite is advantageous
* Previous UK experience and you must currently be a UK resident
