Job Description:
Job Title: Quantity Surveyor
Location: Tunbridge Wells, Kent (with travel to sites across the UK)
Salary: Competitive, based on experience
About Us: We are a leading commercial building contractor with a diverse portfolio of projects, including new steel-framed units, refurbishments, and groundworks for well-known retailers such as Starbucks, Home Bargains, and Iceland. Role Overview: We are seeking a young, developing Quantity Surveyor who is ideally based close to Kent and willing to travel. The ideal candidate will have experience with main contractors, strong take-off abilities, and be comfortable dealing with JCT contracts, including design and build. Experience with NEC contracts is also desirable.
Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct monthly valuations and final accounts.
* Value variations and prepare sub-contract orders.
* Perform accurate take-offs and measurements.
* Manage and administer JCT and NEC contracts.
* Liaise with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure project requirements are met.
* Prepare and submit detailed financial reports and cost analysis.
* Support senior quantity surveyors and project managers in delivering projects on time and within budget.
Requirements:
* Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor with a main contractor.
* Familiarity with JCT contracts, including design and build, and experience with NEC contracts is advantageous.
* Strong take-off skills and attention to detail.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Willingness to travel to sites across the UK, from Plymouth to Liverpool.
* A valid UK driving license.
