Job Description:
We are looking for an Income Officer based from the Civic Offices in Kirkby in Ashfield. This role is the collection and enforcement of current and former tenancy debts (rents and tenancy charges) for council housing. Position is office/patch based so a car user with access to a vehicle is a must.
Monday to Friday 08:30am - 17:00pm initially for a six month contract.
Duties will include:
* Support the co-ordination and delivery of income collection and recovery services, including estate-based activity.
* Responsible for collection of debt within a specific area.
* Ensuring that tenants are aware of their responsibilities to pay their rent regularly, working supportively and proactively with the aim of sustaining tenancies.
The ideal candidate will have the following experience:
* Demonstratable experience of working in Income Collection/Recovery.
* Dealing directly with the public and delivery of high quality customer care.
* Liaing and dealing with a range of voluntary, statutory and partner agencies.
* Presenting evidence at County Court.
* Sound knowledge of best practise in management of income recovery, debt counselling and debt collection.
* Knowledge of current social housing issues and housing law in debt recovery.
