Job Description:
Horizon Teachers are currently working with a Primary School in Lambeth that are looking for a Teaching Assistant to work 1:1 with a child in their ARP that requires extra support in their education. The student you will be supporting has Autism that can lead to challenging behaviours, so you must have previous experience supporting children within a similar role.
Within their ARP the school help support children with varying Special Educational Needs and have use of sensory, therapy and soft play rooms to create a structured yet calm environment.
You will need to be resilient and be able to quickly create a rapport with the children within the ARP to best support them in their learning. This will be a very rewarding role for the right person, starting in September 2024 and will run until the end of the academic year, on a full-time basis, and will pay up to £550 per week.
What the school are looking for in their Teaching Assistants:
* Previous experience working within a school setting.
* Experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs.
* Confident working on a 1:1 basis and within small groups of children
* Be able to assist the class teacher with classroom preparation
