Job Description:
We are currently working with an outstanding school in Hillingdon who are looking for a SEN TA to start working with them this September. This award-winning setting has pupils with MLD, SLD, ASD and other associated learning disabilities. They have an excellent team in place to support you to get the best outcome for the pupils. The school will be offering ongoing professional development and support in the workplace.
You will be working closely with a pupil with complex needs in KS2 and you will be required to work on a one-to-one basis and in groups delivering lessons and supporting them in their daily routines. You will be following an Individual Learning Plan tailors specifically for the child which will include academics, social skills and life skills. Compassion, understanding and patience are all qualities you will need to succeed in this position long term
Requirements:
* Enhanced DBS which is registered on the update service – if you do not have this already, we can assist with application
* Must have experience working with SEND
* Have patience and be adaptable
The role:
* To work with students with ASD, MLD and SLD
* To work with small groups and on a 1:1 basis
* To assist the class teacher and work collaboratively
These would be an asset:
* Experience with PECs, Makaton and/or BSL
* Experience using Team Teach or another form of certified physical restraint
