Job Description:
Maldon Partners are recruiting an Investment Operations Associate on a permanent basis for a Leading European Private Debt Asset Manager.
The role has been created due to expansion and will be based in their Manchester Offices.
The firm has c$21bn in AUM and approximately 170 Employees globally.
The office in Manchester has 5 employees and the role will involve frequent trips to London.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with 4+years of working capital / trade finance related investment operations experience looking for a broad role in a top tier firm.
Hybrid working 3-4 days in the office
The Role:
Reporting to the Working Capital Operations Director, the role will be primarily focused providing operational support to the firm’s Working Capital Finance strategy and encompass deal execution / documentation, management of new product onboarding, working capital finance transactions, asset servicing and service provider oversight.
Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
Deal execution and documentation
* Review transaction documentation from an operational and administrative perspective, focusing on settlements and maturities, data capture, program specific processes and other lifecycle events
* Prepare deal term sheets
* Oversee allocation process
* Assist in the preparation of transaction documentation for secondary transactions
* Liaise with Fund Finance team regarding assets processed, payments made, and any other data which is relevant to month end reporting.
* Manage the operational process of closing, funding and booking of new investments
New Products / Working Capital Finance (structured notes)
* Involvement in defining operational requirements for new product initiatives including drafting operational process flows and assisting with service provider selection
* Deal onboarding with Fund Administrator / Trustee / Investment Platforms - building out reporting / processes etc
* Utilisation / Quarterly reporting + waterfall oversight / sign-off of fund administrator reporting
* Understanding functioning of WCF deals + ability to interpret legal documentation and apply to internal models and processes
Asset Servicing
* Coordinate with the platforms, trade counterparties and the Administrator(s) regarding all scheduled life cycle events, such as new trades, repayments etc.
* Act as a subject matter expert for WCF products – provide additional support and training as required to administrators
* Provide oversight to reconciliation processes and act as a point of escalation for any unresolved booking issues
Experienced Required:
* A minimum of 4years investment operations experience gained within the Working Capital / Trade Finance space.
* Good knowledge of transaction documentations ESSENTIAL
* Experience Inventory Finance DESIRABLE
* Knowledge of Notes settlements and Corporate actions processes
* Excellent Excel and PowerBI Skills (this will be tested)
* Educated to degree level
* Great communication skills
Salary:
The Working Capital Investment Operations role has a base salary of c£60,000 - £70,000 (some flex) depending on experience plus excellent benefits and bonus package. The role is based in Manchester.
Hybrid working is also on offer.
