Senior Software Engineer (Python)
London - Hybrid
Up to £90,000 + Equity + Benefits My client is a fast-growing, AI-first SaaS scaleup based in London, UK. They have developed the world’s first 3D AI analytics & insights platform for the construction industry. This innovative software automates quality verification, quantity tracking, progress monitoring, and predictive risk analysis, creating an intelligent digital twin previously missing from construction. This allows enterprise customers to access timely insights, make informed decisions, and prevent problems before they arise, saving significant costs, time, manpower, and CO2 emissions.
Please note: You must be authorized to work in the UK, as my client does not sponsor visas for this role.
What You Will Be Doing: * Develop Core Software and Deployment Processes: * Design and improve system architecture
* Implement and test backend, analytics engine, database, and integrations
* Optimize cloud deployment and performance
* Implement Engineering Best Practices: * Establish, implement, and track development and product KPIs
* Conduct code reviews and learning sessions
* Contribute to and expand the company’s knowledge base
* Train junior team members
Technical Skills You Need to Have: * 5+ years of experience designing and implementing maintainable, high-quality enterprise/B2B software in an agile environment
* 2+ years of experience implementing software project elements from design to deployment
* High proficiency in Python and React for delivering scalable production code
* Proficient in using RDBMS, ideally PostgreSQL
* Experience with AWS or Azure and familiarity with Docker and container orchestration
* A degree in Computer Science, Math, or a related field
Personal Traits We’d Love to See: * Self-starter with a desire to apply technical expertise to solve challenging problems and positively impact people’s lives
* Strong problem-solving skills and ability to translate customer requirements into scalable software/products
* Team player capable of managing software projects end-to-end, ensuring high-quality outputs are delivered on time
* Fast learner who thrives in dynamic environments
Any of the Following is a Plus: * Start-up experience, ideally in AI, computer vision, or enterprise software
* MSc or PhD in Computer Science, Math, or related fields
* Experience with 2D/3D vision or big data applications
* Experience with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
* Familiarity with a second object-oriented language
* Familiarity with BIM or construction scheduling tools (e.g., Autodesk, Primavera)
Where You Will Be Working: * Hybrid working model with 2-3 days a week in their vibrant London Shoreditch office
