Overview

To act as a key member of the Motor Trade team. This role will be responsible for maintaining a book of existing motor trade clients, providing a quality service, meeting client demands and needs in order to achieve optimum renewal retention rate and growth.
The role is a unique opportunity to develop and secure Motor Trade knowledge within a specialist department and has potential for strong career growth.
The role is desk based dealing with prospects over the phone, agile working between home and office will be possible when fully trained.

How you’ll make an impact

* Manage client relationships at renewal and grow existing accounts, providing the most appropriate insurance and risk management solutions providing a full end to end sales service while capturing demands and needs and making the most of cross sell opportunities.
* Negotiate with insurers to obtain terms for clients that accurately and effectively match customer requirements
* Manage workload demands in order to effectively service the client relationship and ensure placements are completed within client deadlines
* Ensure client information and sales plans are kept up to date
* Promote and sell additional applications and services to clients
* Provide realistic plans and forecasts on expected client retention
* Deal with internal and external queries from colleagues or underwriters
* Ensure that premiums are paid in accordance with placement requirements
* Carry out duties following internal policies and procedures in accordance with applicable laws, rules, regulations, good governance and Gallagher’s shared values, in particular, putting clients at the heart of our business.

About You

* Basic knowledge of general insurance (London Market / Lloyd’s and Industry) products, services, classes of insurance including underlying legal principles and practices relating to risk within own role capacity – Motor Trade Knowledge desirable but not essential.
* Demonstrated rapport-building experience with colleagues/clients/Insurers
* Evidence of effectively prioritising risks to manage workflow
* Able to quickly grasp and interpret salient information
* Worked to deadlines and able to anticipate change
* Good client service focus
* Able to identify potential risks/issues and seek advice/consultation when required
* Due diligence and process driven to deadlines
* Risk aware in customer handling
* Proactive in customer-care
* Good communication and interpersonal skills
* Accuracy and attention to detail

* Continually builds industry knowledge
* MS office proficiency
* Acturis experience advantageous
* Awareness of the regulatory requirements in respect of ’advised’ and ’non-advised’ sales, and in particular evidencing the standards and knowledge required in respect of giving advice and making recommendations to customers
