Castlefield Recruitment is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Interim Head of Financial Accounts for an NHS organisation. This role is critical in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting during this interim period. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of financial accounting and reporting, ensuring compliance with NHS standards and regulations.
Duties:

* Lead the financial accounting team, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting
* Prepare and present financial statements in accordance with NHS guidelines and statutory requirements
* Manage the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring all deadlines are met
* Ensure compliance with financial policies, procedures, and controls
* Oversee the preparation of annual accounts and liaise with external auditors
* Provide detailed financial analysis and insights to support strategic decision-making
* Develop and implement improvements to financial accounting processes and systems
* Support the finance team in maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records
* Advise on technical accounting issues and provide training to finance staff as needed
Personal:

* A recognized professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent)
* Extensive experience in financial accounting, preferably within the NHS or public sector
* Strong knowledge of NHS financial regulations and reporting requirements
* Proven ability to manage financial accounting processes, including month-end and year-end close
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
* Strong leadership and team management abilities
* Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with stakeholders
