Overview
As a SEN (Special Educational Needs) Teaching Assistant, you will have the opportunity to work with and support children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) within a Primary School setting. You will play a vital role in ensuring that every child is supported in their learning and development, making a meaningful difference to their educational journey.
Responsibilities
* Work closely with the SEN coordinator and classroom teachers to support the learning and development of children with EHCPs (Education, Health and Care Plans) and other SEN requirements.
* Provide tailored support to individual students, both in and out of the classroom, to ensure they can fully access the curriculum and reach their potential.
* Assist with the implementation of individual education plans and behavior management strategies for SEN students.
* Foster a supportive and inclusive environment for all students, working to promote equality and diversity within the school community.
Qualifications
* Previous experience working with children who have EHCPs and SEN is essential for this role.
* A relevant qualification in education, special education, or a related field is preferred, although prior experience may be considered in place of formal qualifications.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage and support children with diverse needs.
Day-to-Day
* Supporting students in the classroom, providing one-on-one assistance as needed.
* Collaborating with teaching staff to create and implement individualized learning plans.
* Assisting with the personal care and wellbeing of SEN students, where necessary.
* Monitoring and reporting on the progress and development of individual students.
