We are looking for an experienced Import Operator for our client based in Leeds. This client has an excellent reputation and is well thought of in the freight forwarding industry.

This role involves managing a range of clients who are shipping goods from the Far East to the UK via Sea. In this role you’ll manage the end-to-end journey for the customer, agreeing pricing and liaising with carriers.

Main duties to include:
* Managing shipments for a set list of clients
* Booking and pricing shipments
* Negotiate with carriers to get the best prices
* Build relationships with customers and carriers
* Track shipments and flag any delays or issues with deliveries
* Complete all import documentation and file correctly
* Keep customers up to date 
We are looking for:
* Experience of importing goods, ideally from the Far East
* Experience of working in a Freight Forwarder
* Knowledge of either Sea or Air shipments
* A good relationship builder 
* Someone who is organised and can work to deadlines
