Farm Production Manager

£28k -30k (only required to work 8 months of the year)

We have an exciting opportunity with an internationally exporting client who want to give an opportunity to a forward-thinking, hardworking farming individual who is looking for their next step.
The role:
* Spray tractor driving and weed spraying
* Grass cutting, pruning, fruit harvest management and tree fertilisation 
* Irrigation pipe maintenance
* Implementing horticultural best practices to ensure production targets are achieved
* Organising the availability of farming resources and implements
* Taking ongoing control of all processes, recording of progress and monitoring of costs within your area of responsibility
* Implementing environmental and sustainability plans and targets. 
* Ensuring compliance with all audits and legislation requirements

The person:
* Farm production experience, from land development to harvesting and farm maintenance    
* Knowledge of horticultural practices and a technical understanding of fruit production
* Pest control and groundwork, to irrigation experience
* A relevant degree in agriculture and/or horticulture or equivalent experience is desirable
* Tractor driving experience
* Demonstrable leadership and abilities with strong communication and organisational skills

Whilst the working weeks average 40-50 hours, our client is flexible around start and finish times, and offers a salary paid in twelve monthly instalments, with the whole of December – February off but still paid! This is a really exciting opportunity, offering a salary in the region of £28,000pa plus holiday pay and benefits including a generous pension scheme.
