Job Description:
Robert Half Finance and Accounting are currently looking to recruit a part time Accounts Assistant to join a small team for an independent business located in Cranleigh, Surrey. For the right person, the client is offering a very competitive salary of £14,067pa.
This is an office based role: working 20 hours per week. The successful candidate would work on a 5 day a week basis for 4 hours a day, so may be perfect for someone looking to work around school hours.
Main duties include but are not limited to:
* Running the full purchase ledger function, from posting invoices through to making payments, posting cash and reconciling afterwards.
* Processing a large volume of invoices, dealing with queries from suppliers, manual calculations, statement reconciliations, weekly payment runs and other ad hoc finance responsibilities as and when required
* Support ordering clerk & process orders as facilitated through the ordering procedure and assisting with value for money and budget checks
* Ensuring administration associated with purchasing is up to date
* Running creditor reports and staying in control of financial spending, ensuring accurate information is entered into the reporting structures.
* Assisting the team with month-end / year-end processes.
* Actively look to improve systems and processes to ensure operations are efficient.
* Monitor cash flow and ensure payments are made responsibly and on time
* Routine data input and journal entries ensuring the effective administration of Purchase Ledger and other systems as required.

* Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Excel
* Experience of handling purchase ledger
* Ability to confidently communicate with people across the business
* Possess first-rate numerical skills
