A manufacturing company based in the heart of Trafford Park is looking to recruit a Bookkeeper. This is a great position to work for a local company and take ownership of the finances up to trial balance.
Your new role
On a day-to-day basis, you are responsible for:
* Record daily transactions, such as sales, purchases, payments, receipts, and adjustments.
* Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and petty cash.
* Process invoices, bills, and expenses.
* Prepare and file tax returns, VAT returns, and other statutory returns.
* Maintain ledgers, journals, and other accounting records.
* Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual closing procedures.
* Prepare trial balance and supporting schedules.
* Assist the accountant with financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and auditing.
* Comply with accounting policies, procedures, and regulations.
What you’ll need to succeed
* AAT Level 3 or Level 4 qualification or equivalent.
* Proven experience as a bookkeeper or in a similar role.
* Proficient in accounting software, such as Xero, QuickBooks, or Sage.
* Excellent numerical and analytical skills.
* Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
* Good communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Ability to meet deadlines and prioritise tasks
