Transport Planner
Transport Planner required! My client, based in Ipswich, is a road haulage company, specialising in container logistics from major UK ports. They are now looking for a transport planner to join their team, playing a crucial role in planning the fleet of 40+, communicating with drivers, and providing excellent customer service to their clients.
Transport Planner - Responsibilities
* Securing and managing VBS bookings.
* Planning container transport efficiently to maximise profits.
* Reporting any late running transport.
* Checking container weights ensuring all compliance’s are met.
* Plan and optimise routes for maximum efficiency.
* Coordinate workload for the drivers, keeping track of driver’s hours.
* Oversee fleet maintenance and administration.
* Ensure compliance and transport safety standards are met.
* Keep track of driver’s training requirements and ensure compliance with regulations.
* Maintain daily inspections and check logs for driver and location information.
Transport Planner - Requirements
* Proven experience working as a Transport Planner or in a similar role
* Proficient in transportation management systems and software
* Working well in a team environment, role involves working in a small team of three
* Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
* Ability to multitask and work under pressure
* Excellent time management skills and ability to meet deadlines
* On call phone every third week
Remuneration
* Salary - £30,000 - £40,000
* Monday - Friday - 7am - 4:30pm or 8:30am - 6pm
* Company pension scheme
* On site parking
