Role: Electrical Design Engineer
Location: Hybrid - 3 days in Office in Edenbridge, 2 days WFH/Client premises
Salary: £40-45k plus bonuses
Job description:
Assisting other engineers in planning, consulting, and managing medium/small jobs in electrical, security, and fire detection systems. The services are provided for civil, industrial, and residential buildings in the United Kingdom, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia. Assisting other engineers in developing the RIBA Stages 0 to 6 project, including the supervision, testing, and commissioning of the relative services. Capable of producing reports, specifications, snags, and any other validation required. The role includes the design and also validation of other parties’ projects.
Do you have:
* Minimum of five years of experience in the UK with all building services systems (Electrical, Security, Fire Detection and Alarm).
* Experience in 3D modelling "Revit" software.
* Good knowledge of IES, BS, and Building Regulations.
* Medium experience in managing medium/small-scale projects involving multiple disciplines.
* Medium experience in developing projects from RIBA Stages 0 to 6.
* Experience in calculations using Amtech, DIALux, etc.
* Medium confidence in leading meetings with clients, building controllers, contractors, and parties involved.
* Medium experience in test and commissioning for all services, assisting the contractors in what and how to do tests.
* Assist in electrical load calculations and renewable energy assessments, ensuring alignment with sustainability goals.
* A driving license is required.
Main Duties:
* Use 2D CAD and AutoCAD software to produce drawings and schematics for client projects.
* Use Revit 3D modelling to coordinate services.
* Provide accurate drawings of electrical, security and fire detection systems, electric schematics and rise diagrams for new and refurbishment projects / installations, including:
- Main Distribution and Electrical Systems (230/400V - 50Hz)
- Lighting System (ordinary and emergency)
- Small Power System
- Structured Cabling System
- Grounding and Lightning Protection System
- Fire Detection and Alarm system
- Aspiration Smoke Detection system (Vesda)
- CCTV System
- Intruder Alarm System
- Access Control System
- Intercom and Audio System
- Incident and Panic Alarm System
- Estimate material, construction and labour costs
- Provide timescale projections
- Consult with external vendors on technical upgrades
- Attending meetings, writing reports, giving presentations to managers and clients
