Service Charge Advisor / Contract / Sittingbourne

Overview:

One of the UK’s largest housing providers is seeking a Service Charge Analyst to assist with service charge actuals and the budget setting process.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience working with service charge in social housing however this is not essential.

The overall purpose of the Service Charge Analyst is to produce detailed analysis of actual expenditure and estimate future costs.

Role & Responsibilities of the Service Charge Analyst:

* Monitor spend
* Check contracts and calculate provisions based up on replacements and repairs
* Liaise with key internal stakeholders and resolve any issues
* Ensure invoices are logged
* Analyse variances
* Prepare statements
* Respond to customer enquiries
* Extract expenditure from accounting system
* Accurately calculate actualised service charges ensuring compliance with leases and legislation
* Preparing and reviewing invoices for examination and certification by external auditors
* Respond to external auditors’ queries during certification process
* Working with internal colleagues to resolve any discrepancies with actual spend to ensure service charge expenditure is fully recovered


Essential Skills & Experience of the Service Charge Analyst:

* Experience working with accounting systems
* Experience within a Housing Association is desirable
* Excellent IT skills, including using Excel, Access, Powerpoint, and Word
* Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
