I help to keep people safe and warm by…
* Managing a team of Network Assistants specialising in GIS services and scoping and designing mains replacement projects across all pipe tiers.
* Producing data sets and carrying out geospatial and data analysis
* Delivering gas mains Replacement project planning and design.
* Planning the HSE Iron Mains Replacement programme as well as other mains replacement workloads and support activities within the team.
* Ensuring the project designs are as efficient and productive as possible.
* Ensuring the project designs meet our regulatory targets and obligations.
* Managing any design variations on projects.
* Managing the development and implementation of new processes for the Repex programme.
* Maintaining a current and thorough knowledge of the Distribution supply system.
* Completing management information and reports as required.
* Supporting the wider Network Management team with other tasks when required.
What you’ll need
* Experience in using GIS systems, particularly ESRI ArcGIS
* A qualification in Geography would be beneficial
* Coding experience such as Python or C++ would be beneficial
* Strong Microsoft Excel and data analysis skills
* With a positive and flexible approach to work you will be highly motivated with good leadership, organisational, diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
* Ability to respond and adapt quickly to change; and meet tight deadlines.
* Ability to learn and develop new skills quickly.
* Strong communication skills supporting regular liaison with other departments and stakeholders within SGN or externally.
* You must be an effective communicator at all levels and be able to act on your own initiative.
* You will demonstrate a high level of computer literacy and associated skills.
* It is essential that you are committed to the SGN values and will challenge your team to deliver SGN targets.
