We are on the hunt for a Financial Accountant to join a thriving charity based on the Isle of Wight. As Financial Accountant, you will drive the change and improvement of key processes, ensuring the finances of the organisation are well-managed and efficient.

Reporting to the Finance Director, you will be responsible for:
* Offering strategic financial guidance and support throughout the organisation
* Leading the financial accounting operations, ensuring accurate and timely completion of processes (daily, monthly, annual)
* Balance sheet reconciliations
* Ensuring Fixed Asset Registers are reconciled to the finance system
* Correctly allocating Restricted Funds as received
* Processing the payroll journals for employing entities
* Making sure VAT returns are completed in a timely and accurate manner
* Conducting analysis and reporting to drive informed decision-making
* Overseeing the continuous improvement of finance processes

What you will need:
* To be a qualified accountant – ACCA / CIMA / ACA
* Previous experience in a similar role, such as Financial Accountant / Finance Manager / Management Accountant / Assistant Accountant
* A strong understanding of Excel (including Vlookups and pivot tables)
* Experience in the charity sector is desirable but not essential
