Rust Engineer - Databasing - Founding Team
Salary up to £160,000 (based on Rust seniority) + Benefits
Join our team as a Senior Rust Engineer and help shape the future of technology as part of our Distributed Systems project... We’re happy to have you completely remote working, the rest of the team is dotted throughout the US and Europe. This exciting role offers the opportunity to push the boundaries of what’s possible in the world of open-source databases.
As a Senior Rust Engineer, you will work on building and improving the world’s fastest-growing unique open-source database and collaborative protocols working entirely in Rust, WebAssembly, and TypeScript/JavaScript/EmberJs. We have completely rewritten our background out of Golang because Rust is king!
Your responsibilities as a Rust Engineer here include:
- Mainly implementing brand-new features in the product, a little maintenance but not much
- Improving the overall performance of existing code, and working at the intersection of Operation Transformation (Our code is literally only 3 years old, so no out-and-out legacy rewrites)
- CRDT protocols whilst engaging with developers in our expanding community on GitHub, Discord, and other platforms
- Laying down the groundwork for getting us deployed into the cloud (we’re going to use AWS)
You’ll also have the opportunity to contribute to our documentation and blog posts, support the online community, and attend in-person/ virtual events across the globe should you want. We want to give back to the Rust community so you need to be comfortable being people facing.
