Job Description:
Robert Half Finance and Accounting are currently looking to recruit a Controls Improvement Manager to join an exciting Manufacturing company experiencing huge growth due to a recent acquisition with sites across all of the UK. For the right person the client is offering a very competitive:
£60,000 - £80,000 plus up to 15% bonus - role can be based remotely but you will need to travel across UK&I sites roughly 1-2 days per week with possible overnight stays
Role responsibilities will include but not limited to:
* Lead Process Change projects
* Identify and action areas with the control environment to improve efficiency
* Improving the efficiency of Sox compliance for in scope sites through Support and change
* Maintaining the UK&I testing programme of internal financial controls utilising the direct report
* Analyse audit results to identify & implement improvements
* Maximise harmonisation of controls within UK & I entities and ensure any best practices that are identified are shared
* Ensure consistency of procedures and reports across entities
* Maintaining Proactive Reviews and testing to limit risk for the senior managers
* Review and challenge other Financial based audits to ensure effectiveness by those teams
* Monitor Group/Divisional control revisions and communicate effectively within the UK business
* Work with sites to ensure the controls in place are adapted to the local risk and materially by providing guidance on thresholds, deviations, delegation etc
* Assist and support sites during their internal audit process
* Manage 1 direct report
Person specification:
* A recognised accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
* Experience of professional auditing firms and/or strong understanding of financial cycles and corresponding control functions
* A UK or Irish driving license for regular travel to the sites across UK & Ireland
* Experience of SARBOX control environment - essential
* Strong analytical skills
* Ability to identify & promote change for improved efficiency within the business control environment
* The ability to balance operational and control requirements
* Ability to meet deadlines and ’get the job done’
