Purpose of the Role:
Part of Zurich’s business are using a legacy third party mainframe system. The vendor that runs this system is undergoing internal changes. They therefore need to re-assess their relationship to check if full re-platforming to a new cloud solution will be necessary or if knowledge transfer from the vendor to their own internal teams is suitable for them to keep using this system for a while longer.
This is expected to be quite a large and complex body of work for which they are still in the very early stages. They have an existing Project Manager on the IT side of this and now require a skilled Project Manager with more of a background in Data Management.
Responsibilities of the role:
As a Data Project Manager you will be responsible for:
* Assessing the current environment and liaising with internal teams and third party vendors on the best course of action in this project.
* Using your expert knowledge to consult on potential re-platforming opportunities should the business choose go down this route.
* Overseeing knowledge transfer from the vendor to Zurich’s own internal teams if necessary.
You will also be:
* Developing and maintaining detailed project plans, ensuring alignment with business objectives and timelines.
* Implementing and manage governance frameworks to ensure project milestones are met and risks are mitigated.
* Preparing and presenting comprehensive project reports, providing clear updates on progress, risks, and issues to senior stakeholders.
* Engaging with senior stakeholders, particularly on data management aspects, to ensure alignment and support for the project.
* Working closely with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and Business Analysts to gather and analyze requirements, ensuring thorough understanding and documentation.
* Conducting detailed analysis to provide a clear view of options, potential impacts, and recommended actions.
* Participate in and lead regular team meetings, ensuring effective communication and collaboration across all project members.
What we require from the candidate:
* Previous experience of knowledge transfer from 3rd party vendors.
* Previous experience of mainframe system re-platforming.
* Experience in projects involving complex data migrations.
* Strong understanding of project management methodologies and tools.
* Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage and influence senior stakeholders.
* Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects and deliver on time and within budget.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
