We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic SEN Cover Supervisor to join our specialist school in Harrow. This is a full-time position starting in September. While formal teaching qualifications are not required, you must have experience leading classes and a strong commitment to supporting students with special educational needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and manage classrooms, ensuring a positive and productive learning environment.
- Deliver pre-prepared lesson plans and support students in their educational activities.
- Maintain classroom order and promote positive behaviour management strategies.
- Provide additional support to students with special educational needs, adapting activities to meet their individual requirements.
- Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and external professionals to ensure comprehensive support for each student.
- Monitor and report on student progress and behaviour, maintaining accurate records.
- Contribute to the development of a positive and inclusive school culture.
- Participate in school events, meetings, and professional development opportunities.
Requirements:
- Experience leading classes or groups of students, preferably within an SEN setting.
- Strong understanding of special educational needs and effective teaching strategies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- A valid enhanced DBS check (or willingness to undergo one).
