Due to the partnership between Hays and Sandwell Council we are looking for an experienced Trading Standards Officer to join them on a temporary basis within Food Standards.
Your new role
Sandwell MBC Trading Standards Team is looking for a fully qualified, enthusiastic and reliable Trading Standards Officer with up to date Food Standards competency and good Product Safety knowledge. We are looking for someone with experience of conducting Food Standards inspections and dealing with Product Safety complaints and enquiries. You should be competent in Food Standards as details by the FSA Food Law Code of Practice and have the ability to carry out inspections in accordance with the relevant legislation and national codes of practice.
What you’ll need to succeed
To be successful in securing this role, you will have prior experience within Trading Standards, working knowledge with enforcing legislations, and an awareness of law around evidence. You should also demonstrate excellent communication and administrative skills as you will also write up reports for investigations. Knowledge of the CIVICA CX will also be highly beneficial.
What you’ll get in return
This is a full-time temporary position, currently for 3 months with the possibility of extension, and offering an hourly rate between £20.85, however open to negotiation.
