We are currently seeking an expert individual to join this team in the role of Senior Manager, Technology Finance - Europe.
Technology Finance’s goal is to partner with HSBC Technology, Global Businesses and Regions to provide commercial insight and expertise, transparency of technology costs, accurate multi-year forecasting and strong financial discipline, to help deliver HSBC’s strategy.
HSBC Technology is one of the largest technology organisations in the world with an annual budget of $7bn and 52,000 colleagues across 51 countries. HSBC Technology is responsible for 9,000+ applications, 275+PB of data, 100,000+ servers in 71 data centres and 400,000+ end user devices and is at the core of driving forward the group’s digitisation strategy.
In this role, you will:
* Collaborate closely with the Europe HSBC Technology team, business stakeholders, and other functional areas to understand their financial needs, provide financial guidance, and support cross-functional initiatives.
* Conduct comprehensive financial analysis, including budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis, to assess the financial performance of technology projects and initiatives.
* Assist in the development of multi-year strategic plans for technology investments, aligning with the bank’s overall business objectives and growth strategies.
* Prepare regular reports and presentations for senior management, providing commercial insights into technology expenditures, transparency of drivers and performance metrics to support decision-making processes.
* Evaluate potential technology investments, mergers, acquisitions, and partnerships by conducting financial due diligence, assessing risk, and analysing return on investment (ROI).
* Identify opportunities for efficiency improvement within the Business Finance function, utilise innovative solutions and collaborate with stakeholders to make processes simpler, faster and better for the customer.
Requirements
To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:
* Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CA, CIMA or equivalent) or qualified by experience.
* Demonstrable current experience of working within a large complex multi-national matrix organisation.
* Business analysis experience with strong technical and commercial awareness.
* Business partnering experience within a finance function.
* Collaborative, engaging, credible and analytical; being able to bring the numbers to life (i.e., presenting key financials/ reporting to senior stakeholders).
* Experience of building and maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders (at all levels of seniority).
The base location for this role is Sheffield and with a hybrid working pattern.
