Transport Planner
Transport planner required! My client is a transport and road haulage company based in Dunstable. They are looking for a Transport Planner to play a crucial role in route planning and optimising the efficiency of the transport operations.
Transport Planner - Responsibilities
* Plan and coordinate routes for the fleet of HGVs.
* Optimise routes to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of goods.
* Provide leadership of day-to-day transport operations
* Ensuring the timely and safe delivery of goods to clients across the UK.
* Day to day management of drivers, and rotas, including holidays, sickness management etc.
* Carrying out regular fleet checks, monitoring vehicle performance, ensuring all Health & Safety compliances are met.
* Work with subcontractors to meet customers’ requirements.
* Provide excellent customer service and communication at all levels,
Transport Planner - Requirements
* Previous experience in Transport planning for HGVs.
* Strong knowledge of WTD, Road Transport regulations, FORS.
* Geographical knowledge of the UK road network.
* Health and Safety & fleet compliance knowledge
* CPC qualification - desirable but not essential
* Ability to work under own initiative and well under pressure.
* Proactive and problem-solving attitude.
* Proficiency in transport management system and Microsoft Office,
* Full UK driving License.
Remuneration
* Monday - Friday (due to nature of the business, you’d be occasionally expected to be contactable out of hours)
* 8-hour day shifts
* Salary - £30,000 - £36,000
