The bank is looking for a Sanction Specialist on a permanent basis to join their global function and manage a team of 6.
Your new role
* Oversee the daily reference data and payment screening processes of the team, ensuring efficient, timely, and accurate execution.
* Manage Analyst and Associate team members.
* Provide guidance on investigations into sanctions alerts arising from the firm’s transaction and reference data sanctions screening processes.
* Collaborate with business, operations, and technology divisions to gather information pertinent to potential sanctions issues and offer sanctions-related advice to internal stakeholders.
* Conduct enhanced due diligence and related activities to mitigate sanctions risks.
* Ensure compliance with metrics, deadlines, and record-keeping requirements set by management.
* Assist in the creation and improvement of sanctions-related policies and procedures across the firm’s business lines.
* Compile deliverables for internal and external audits.
* Draft regulatory reports concerning sanctioned assets.
What you’ll need to succeed
To succeed in applying for this job, the right candidate will need to demonstrate the following:
Leadership and Team Management Skills:
* Proven experience of managing and mentoring analysts and associate team members.
* The ability to coordinate the team’s day-to-day reference data and payment screening processes, ensuring smooth, prompt, and accurate execution.
Expertise in Sanctions and Compliance:
* Strong knowledge of sanctions regulations and the ability to provide advice on investigations related to sanctions alerts from the firm’s transaction and reference data screening processes.
* Experience in conducting enhanced due diligence and related activities to mitigate sanctions risk.
Collaboration and Communication:
* Effective collaboration with business, operations, and technology divisions to gather relevant information for potential sanctions concerns.
* Ability to provide clear and concise sanctions-related advice to internal constituencies.
