Markets Operations Belfast Overview:


Our Operations groups are core to the success of the Markets business. We support a wide range of internal stakeholders including Front Office Sales and Trading Desks, Compliance, Legal, Finance and HR; alongside having significant interaction with external clients, playing a key role in the overall client experience.

This is a management level position responsible for accomplishing results through the management of a team or department in an effort to process orders and transactions originating from trading desks and branch offices in coordination with the Operations - Transaction Services team. The overall objective of this role is to ensure the seamless delivery of securities and derivatives transactions.

Team Overview:


We are looking for enthusiastic and energetic team players, with a strong work ethic, to join this newly created team in Belfast which is forecasted to grow and provides a great opportunity not only for global exposure but also promotion within the team.

Responsibilities:
* Develop and implement business initiatives, client solutions, or projects affiliated with securities and derivatives settlement
* Provide detailed analysis of escalated issues when necessary and recommend actions for resolution
* Manage daily performance related to securities and derivatives pre and post-settlement activities of operations processes
* Be nimble and agile to take on new tasks and strategic initiatives in an effort to achieve Transformation goals.
* Manage the generation and matching of transactions.
* Manage transaction processing issues to the appropriate department and collaborate on solutions.
* Prepare and submit internal and external regulatory reports.
* Manage a team of analysts to perform multiple transactions of moderate complexity.
* Lead and direct the interpretation of data and apply analytical thinking and knowledge of data analysis.
* Identify policy gaps and implement actions to support the streamlining of related work processes.
* Apply a good understanding of how the team and area integrate with others in accomplishing the objectives of the wider team/working group.
* Effectively communicate and collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders, with whom you may exchange potentially complex/sensitive information to progress work and resolve issues.
* Lead a culture of good governance by applying the rules, regulations, procedures, and controls that have been put in place to minimise risk to Citigroup, its clients, and assets, and apply them appropriately.
* Lead the training, development and mentoring of team
* Lead the planning, development and implementation of process transformation programmes, including the reduction of manual processes
* The establishment of team and individual goals and the performance management required to achieve them.

Qualifications:
* People management experience preferred but not required
* Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication skills
* Ability to work independently
* Attention to detail
* Previous Operational/Audit/Risk/Compliance advantageous
* Project Management or process improvement experience
* Regulatory reporting experience
Successful candidates will attend a three week Market Operations Training Academy if required. This aims to help you understand how Markets Operations work and where your role fits in in Citi while also providing you with all the tools needed to be the best you can be in your new role.

Education:
* Bachelor’s Degree/University degree OR equivalent experience
