Role Definition
This exciting role offers an opportunity to provide technical leadership and innovation. Compliance in the context of an ETCS on-board retrofit project. Working as part of a close-knit team, the Compliance Manager shall be the referent on compliance for the UK specific application of a ETCS On-Board retrofit project. The Compliance Manager will report to the Design & Technical Authority.
The Design team and the System Engineering team defined which standards/laws/regulations the design must comply with, listed in the document called the Technical Baseline.
Essential:
* Knowledge and/or experience relating to train carried systems, in particular train control systems & in-cab signalling systems (ETCS / CBTC)
* Previous experience in interacting with assurance bodies (AsBo, NoBo, DeBo, …)
* Previous experience in safety assurance and certification
* Demonstrates customer focus in all work carried out.
* Able to understand and take account of the ’big picture’ presented by the politics and sensitivities that surround the rail industry.
* Experience of working to industry quality and safety standards
* Strong and effective communicator at all levels within the Business and in front of new and existing customers
* Initiative-taking, dependable and self-reliant 
Desirable:
* Specific knowledge of railway systems and technologies
* Previous experience in APIS and/or ABIU obtention processes
* Proven track record in working in major Sub-contract environments.
* Multi-lingual
