Empowering Learning are looking for Computing/IT Teacher to work in an impressive and bespoke school situated in Leicestershire. Experience working in a school setting and experience with SEND pupils is essential. Teaching ability across the age ranges is favourable but experience of tutoring in the specialism will be considered. This role is to start in September. Due to its rural location - driving to the role will be essential.
Expectations:
* Have experience working with young people
* QTS or QTLS/ Tutoring ICT/Computing experience
* Be highly organised with excellent communication skills
* Have a desire to work with, inspire and support children
* Lead a range of subjects with pupils.
* Have an interest in working with young people with a variety of SEND
* Have experience supporting children with additional needs (desirable not essential)
* Be able to supply school with teaching references
* Be a part of the school team taking part in the wider school environment
* Understanding of behavioural management and SEMH
Main Responsibilities:
* Teaching computing/ICT in a class setting in SEND School.
* Planning lessons and activities for whole class learning and group learning.
* Supporting SEND children with their work in a class setting
* Managing difficult behaviours and implementing the school behaviour policy
* Safeguarding vulnerable pupils
* Possible supervising on lunch and break times
* Supporting and managing teaching assistants within the classroom
* Building relationships with staff and pupils
* Collecting evidence of pupils work to support their assessments
* Feedback to the relevant member of staff about the pupils progress
* To have pastoral responsibility for a group of pupils
* Potentially lead in a subject area
* Ensure a team approach to education with stakeholders such as parents and carers
