Position: Fire Door Surveyor
Location: Newcastle
Salary: Competitive, based on experience
Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough and comprehensive fire door surveys in various buildings and facilities
- Inspect fire doors for compliance with fire safety regulations, including fire resistance, labelling, and hardware functionality
- Identify and document any deficiencies or non-compliance issues
- Provide detailed reports and recommendations for necessary repairs or replacements
- Collaborate with clients, contractors, and internal teams to ensure timely resolution of identified issues
- Stay updated on relevant fire safety regulations and industry best practices
- Maintain accurate records of surveys, findings, and actions taken
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Fire Door Surveyor or similar role
- In-depth knowledge of fire safety regulations, particularly related to fire doors
- Familiarity with relevant British Standards (e.g., BS 8214, BS 476, BS 8216)
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify potential fire safety hazards
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Proficient in using surveying tools and software
- Fire Door Inspection Scheme (FDIS) certification is highly desirable
