The role will be working in the employers and public liability team within the Casualty region of the firm. The team deals with a wide variety of work for major insurers and private nominations. The work is complex and often involves representing household names.

The Role
The ideal candidate will be a talented /Junior Associate who has prior experience of handling an EL/PL caseload of fast track files, working on behalf of the major insurance firms. 

The team offers a supportive environment and a hybrid working week with 2 days in our new Manchester office and 3 days working from home.

Key Responsibilities
* Handling a caseload of employers and public liability claims from inception through to closure, under supervision.
* Ability to make early liability assessments on cases.
* Ability to consider and reach conclusions on liability.
* Ability to assess quantum.
* Drafting pleadings, reporting to clients, drafting witness statements, preparing instructions to counsel, experts and attending in conference and trials.
* Timely completion of MI.
* Practice a proactive approach to case assessment and settlement.
* Conducting research and keeping up to date with legal and industry practices.
Essential Skills & Experience
* Experience of running a caseload including experience of determining liability.
* Experience of working within an employer’s and public liability team.
* Previous experience of Defendant personal injury litigation.
