Our client is a leading Tier 1 Main Contractor with a strong presence in the North East. Their portfolio includes a diverse range of high-profile construction projects across various sectors.
Job Description: They are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join the team. The successful candidate will work closely with experienced Quantity Surveyors and project teams to manage all aspects of cost management and project financial control. Key Responsibilities:
* Assist in the preparation of cost estimates and budgets for construction projects.
* Support the preparation and analysis of tender documentation.
* Conduct measurements and valuations of work completed on-site.
* Assist in the preparation of interim valuations and final accounts.
* Monitor project costs and progress, providing regular reports to senior management.
* Liaise with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain quotations and manage procurement processes.
* Assist in the identification and management of project risks and opportunities.
* Support the preparation of variation orders and claims.
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of financial transactions and project documentation.
* Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and industry standards.
Requirements:
* A degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
* Some experience in a similar role within the construction industry is preferred but not essential.
* Strong numerical and analytical skills.
* Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
* Good communication and interpersonal skills.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant quantity surveying software.
* Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
* Willingness to learn and develop within the role.
