Finance Manager

Job Description:
Our client, a family-run business near Slough, is looking for an experienced Finance Manager (due to an internal promotion) to oversee, manage and coordinate its finance team. Reporting to the Managing Director, the successful candidate will be responsible for day-to-day accounting tasks, including managing budgets and cash flow. Previous experience within a similar accounting role is essential. You will also be overseeing an Accounts Administrator and an Accounts Assistant.
Studying towards ACCA or ACCA qualified would be a definite advantage.
Salary - £35,000 - £40,000 depending on experience, plus benefits
Key Responsibilities:
* Oversight of the purchase ledger function, including goods order management (e.g. purchase invoice vs delivery note)
* Processing of supplier payment run
* Bank reconciliation (GBP and Euro)
* Processing of staff expenses and director credit card transactions
* Escalation of debt collection where necessary
* Credit checks for new customers
* Submission of EDI where needed
* Regular credit checks for suppliers
* Cash management on a daily basis
* Management of the details for the Irish VAT return (prepared by a local accountant)
* Accuracy of VAT coding within the relevant accounting systems
* Analytical review of client accounts profitability
* Management of overheard spend
* Management of company budgets and the performance against these
Key Skills:
* Previous experience in accounting role
* Ability to communicate clearly and concisely
* Bookkeeping experience
* Organised and detail oriented individual
* Ability to learn new systems
* Proficiency in Excel
* Knowledge of Sage Line 50 and Xero is desirable
* Ability to manage workloads
* Discretion in relation to financial information
* Team player
