The Role
We are currently seeking a full-time, on-site Finance Assistant to join our team in Leeds. In this role you will play a pivotal role in providing daily assistance to our Finance Manager while also extending your financial expertise across various company departments.

Duties and Responsibilities
Financial Record Keeping:
· Assist in maintaining accurate financial records, including ledgers, journals, and bank statements.
· Ensure all financial documentation are filed and organised.
Accounts Payable and Receivable:
· Process invoices, expense claims and payment requests.
· Assist credit control by monitoring accounts receivable and following up on overdue invoices.
· Reconcile supplier statements and resolve any discrepancies.
Bank Reconciliations:
· Perform daily bank reconciliations to ensure the accuracy of financial records.
· Investigate and resolve any discrepancies identified during reconciliations.
Payroll Support:
· Assist in processing payroll and keeping timesheet records up to date.
· Maintain payroll records and handled related queries.
Financial Reporting:
· Assist in the preparation of financial reports and statements.
· Provide support during the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
Administrative Duties:
· Manage correspondence and communication with suppliers and clients.
· Provide general administrative support to the finance department.
Audits and Compliance:
Assist with internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and information.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Education:
· AAT/CIMA student or equivalent.
Experience:
· Proven experience of at least two years in a similar role within a finance department.
· Previous experience in Sage 50 and/or 200accounting software essential
Skills:
· Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel.
· Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
· Strong numerical and analytical skills
· Knowledge of accounting terminology, rules and legislation.
