Position: Senior Ecologist - BNG Specialist

Salary: Up to £40,000 + Benefits
Job Overview:
This home-based position is ideal for a senior ecologist passionate about delivering Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) services. Responsibilities include conducting surveys, performing assessments, and providing expert guidance to clients. The role also involves ensuring the quality of BNG work from junior team members and contributing to their training and development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead BNG services for a variety of client projects.
- Maintain high-quality standards in BNG work by junior colleagues.
- Provide in-house training and skill enhancement for team members.
- Author comprehensive reports, including EPS licensing, HRA, and ES chapters.
- Develop and deliver detailed BNG assessments and management plans.
Required Skills:
- At least five years of experience in habitat and protected species assessments.
- Strong understanding of UK Habs and current BNG developments.
- Expertise in producing detailed BNG assessments and supporting documents.
- Strong coaching and mentoring abilities
- Exceptional organizational skills
- Meticulous attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Preferred Qualifications:
- Membership in professional bodies such as CIEEM or RSB, with progress towards chartership
- Recognition by CIEEM’s "Accomplished" criteria for Surveying
- FISC level 4 certification
